Every iScript consultation is delivered by an HPCSA-registered practitioner. There are two categories:
Medical Doctors (independent contractors): MBChB-qualified, HPCSA-registered doctors who diagnose, prescribe and refer independently under iScript's HPCSA Group Practice registration and HPCSA Booklet 10 telehealth guidelines.
Clinical Associates (employed, supervised): BCMP-qualified, HPCSA-registered practitioners employed by Dr. Chomba & Associates Inc and working under the live supervision of a named Medical Doctor (HPCSA Notice 1390 of 11 November 2016). iScript only onboards Clinical Associates with two or more years of HPCSA registration. Supervision is tiered: a Tier B Clinical Associate's consultations are countersigned by the supervising doctor; a Tier C Clinical Associate consults with a named on-call doctor plus monthly case audit and automatic red-flag alerts.
You will see the practitioner's name and HPCSA number (and the supervising doctor's, where applicable) before your call and again in your consultation record. The standard of care required is the same for both categories.
